Psychopharmacology is often part of a person’s mental health recovery. In fact, this is a growing approach to treatment as there have been large advances in medications for behavioral health stability and recovery. Nevertheless, this is a personal decision and one’s rights to include this approach is completely respected.
Sometimes we suggest a “trial” to see if a particular medication is the best for you. It does take a bit of patience as some can take 4 to 6 weeks before results are seen.
After a medication is prescribed, there will be a review of side effects as well as the monitoring of how such a medication is working for you. The physician or nurse will check for any unsafe drug issues. Compliance with instructions and correct dosing will be also monitored.
